Don E. Smith

In the heart of a bustling household, amidst nightly “food for thought” dinner table discussions, a young Don E. Smith discovered his passion for the spoken word. Conversations that ranged from politics to finance, sports to morality, fostered a fertile ground for Don to develop the art of articulating his thoughts with clarity and conviction.

Fueled by these early experiences, Don's collegiate years were marked by remarkable achievements in forensic speech competitions and triumphant victories with the debate team. These accolades further ignited his fervor for effective communication, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to mastering this craft.

Don's journey through the world of Toastmasters International spans over twenty-five years, during which he has earned recognition as an Evaluation Champion, a club mentor, and a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). Through his coaching career as The Speech Whiz, he has spent more than two decades helping entrepreneurs and aspiring speakers hone their messages and platform skills.

Embodying an entrepreneurial spirit, Don ventured into various fields, including entertainment production, financial services, graphic communication, and foodstuffs. These diverse experiences provided him with a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge, enriching his coaching practice.

As a respected faculty member of the American Management Association, Don specializes in communication-based seminars. Currently, as The Brain Tamer, he dedicates his efforts to addressing the growing needs of leaders, guiding them to achieve greater impact through their speaking opportunities. Trained and certified in NLP by Neuro Strategies, Inc., and having received coach training from CoachU, Don brings a comprehensive skill set to his practice.
